Prepared for just a time as this…

Romans is the book.

Chapter 12 fits the time.

Verse 12 is the theme.

God always speaks in a repetitious way. He also does things in three’s and four’s. God’s ways or what he does cannot be predicted but there is themes that we can pick up on to learn more about how he moves. God isn’t going to do anything that will harm or damage us. He does everything for our good. Nothing can separate us from his love. Paul writes of this throughout the whole book. This was Holy Spirit inspired.

Romans 12:12 says; ” Be joyful in Hope, Patient in affliction, and Faithful in prayer.”

Let’s talk about Joy, what does Joy mean? It is more then just being happy. Happiness is temporary and situational. Joy comes from within and not even from ourselves but from God. It is a state of being fulfilled, it is not an emotion. To be joyful in Hope means to be sure of the hope promised to you by God in all circumstances. Especially in the times when Joy seems off. Rejoice!

Next is Patience. It is more then just a virtue. It is something that comes over time and practice. Patience is waiting on God. Patience is trusting God in all of his ways. Patience is endurance. Patience is having the ability to . Patience is known to be a hard thing to do but it’s not just about waiting when we make it just about that, that is why we struggle. He says patience in affliction because those are the things we can be most impulsive and unsure. Patience in affliction is important to not give up what God is going to come through and bless you with. To help us and develop our character. Without patience we can’t do that.

Finally is Faithful. It’s more then being loyal. Being faithful means remaining loyal. It is a action. To be steadfast and firm in your relationship with the Lord. Staying faithful to what he says and not giving it away so easily. To stay faithful in prayer, to not wander away from him or his truth because things aren’t going the way originally thought it would go. Strong assurance is another way you could remain faithful.

I love this verse so much. I really speaks about not giving up. I really want to speak factual about what bible verses say but keep in mind this is also how I see it. How I understand God and what he says through his word in bible. I love to share this with you. It is not only for me or about me. It’s God’s love and his desire for his people to know him better.
